down to the core

Strengthen your core has many benefits beyond just making your torso stronger. It will assist you when working out your upper or lower body and can also help you with your endurance during cardio exercise.

abdominal strengthening

Get the benefit of doing crunches with a natural feeling workout. The dual handles at head level give you the identical motion of doing crunches without having to lay on the floor or an inclined bench.

The weights are selectorized so just place the pin at the weight that’s right for you. Use the rep counter to count for you and watch your timer that starts automatically after your most recent rep, so you’ll know when to start your next set.

hip abductor/adductor

Do you have trouble figuring out the difference between your hip adductor muscles and your hip abductors? And what exactly do they even do?

It can be confusing.

Your abductors muscles are used to pull outward from your torso while your adductor muscles are used to press inward. To complicate matters further, your hip abductors aren’t just a single muscle, but rather are comprised of three different primary muscles. Hip adductors on the other hand or other hip shall we say, consist of four muscles, completely different from the abductors.

But here’s the most important thing, our Life Fitness machine is easy to use and by the time you’re done using it, you’ll feel exactly where those tricky adbuctors and adductors are.

Leg raise/chin/dip

While this is certainly a three in one machine, it’s most popular use among BIM members is for leg raises as part of their core exercise routine.

What’s interesting about this machine is it’s neither plate loaded nor selectorized. The only weight you’ll lift is through your own body.

We’ve placed this machine in the midst of our other core strengthening equipment to make it convenient to focus on your torso through a combination of multiple exercises.

torso roatation machine

Crunches are a great workout for the front of your abdominal muscles, but they place less emphasis on your side or oblique abdominals as they are called.

Most people are surprised the first time they use this machine from Cybex, part of the Life Fitness family of brands. They find that while they may be able to handle significant amounts of weight or resistance for crunches, but when it comes to oblique muscle exercises, they often find they have to reduce the weight or resistance.

That’s why this machine offers 17 different starting positions in 10-degree increments along with dual angled foot pegs and thigh pads, so you can find a setting that’s most comfortable for you while ensuring proper torso movement and maintaining spinal alignment.
